Michael Rister

Michael Wayne Rister, 37, of South Webster, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lorain, Ohio native was born Jan. 19, 1975, the son of Jacalyn Pancake Rister of South Webster, Ohio and the late Michael Eugene Rister. He is also survived by his wife, Amanda Miller Rister, whom he married March 16, 2012. Michael was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and attended Ohio University. He was also a supervisor for Tri State Industries for 11 years and was an avid University of Notre Dame and Chicago Cubs fan. He loved being with his family, especially his favorite girls, his mom and his nieces, Tomi and Olivia. He also enjoyed spending time with man’s best friends, Tyson and Bella. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jack and Lenore Pancake; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Irene Rister; and an uncle, Alan Pancake. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by sister, Rhonda Rister of South Webster; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Jeff Kelly of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Carey Rister of Columbus; two special nieces, Tomi Kelly and Olivia Clarkson, both of Jackson; mother and father-in-law, Mark and Connie Miller of Pedro; and nephews and niece, Coleton, Liam and Taylor. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Bryon Carmon officiating. Abbey Hamilton

Abbey Lyn Bentley Hamilton, 28, wife of Charles “Chad” Hamilton of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Abbey was born Aug. 24, 1983, to Rosemary Roberts Lewis and Timothy Bentley who survive. Abbey was a 2002 graduate of Ironton High School and received her associate degree in Applied Science from the Ohio University in 2006. She was employed as a case worker for the Department of Jobs and Family Services in Ironton. Abbey was preceded in death by her dad, Glenn Lewis, her “Granny,” Maddy Roberts and Peggy Patterson. Along with her husband and parents, Abbey is survived by her brothers, Ryan (Nikki) Bentley and Daniel (Lauren) Monnig of Deering; her special niece, Lexi Bentley; grandparents, Edwards Roberts of Ironton and Ray and Iva Bentley of Coal Grove; mother-in-law, Carol Harper; and father-in-law, Matt Burcham; sister-in-law, Tracy (Paul) Dale; and brother-in-law, Kyle Burcham. Additional survivors include special friend, Talitha Patterson; cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who cannot imagine this world without her. Abbey will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be today at 12:30 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery with John Paul Patterson officiating. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Annabel Byrd Green

Annabel Byrd Green, 74, of Proctorville, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with the Rev.Kermit Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, W.Va.

 

John Holsinger

John Holsinger, 63, of Garrison, Ky., died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland, Ky. with the Rev. Tom Heaberlin officiating. Burial will be in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland. Friends may call the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Geraldine James

Geraldine James, 84, of South Point, died Monday, May 14, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
