Brayleigh Roberson

Brayleigh Rayanne Roberson, 2 days old, of Ironton passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born May 15, 2012, the daughter of Karissa Easterling and Joseph Roberson of Ironton.

Brayleigh was preceded in death by uncle, Nicholas Easterling; paternal great-grandparents, Joseph and Jacquelyn Black; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Johnson; maternal great-grandparents, Clarence “Hoot” and Patty Easterling; maternal great-great-grandparents, George and Catherine Collins; and grandpa; Dallas Roberson Sr.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Cindy and Calvin Johnson of Ironton; maternal grandparents, Todd and Dawn Easterling of Franklin Furnace; paternal grandparents, Andrea and Jeff Jenkins of Ironton; aunt, Michelle Johnson of Ironton; aunt, Cheyanne Jenkins of Wheelersburg; uncle, Dallas Roberson of Ironton; maternal great-grandparents, John and Jean Stapleton of Ironton; paternal great-grandparents, Stephen and Debbie Collins of Ironton; maternal grandparents, Jerry Elliott and Angie Todd of Franklin Furnace; paternal great-grandparent, Vicki Spencer of Dickson, Tenn.; great-grandfather, Lowell Johnson of Sciotoville; great-great-grandmother, Mariannne Wisman of Ironton; and great-great-grandmother; Leona Pierce of Ironton.

Funeral will be noon Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Charles J. Shields and Father Mark Purcell officiating burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Josephine Arbaugh

Josephine Arbaugh, 72, of Pedro, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at her residence. The Ashland, Ky., native was born Sept. 30, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Clara Blanton Wells.

Ms. Arbaugh attended Putnam High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Etna Baptist Church in Pedro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William Junior Wells, James Wells, Arnold “Bud” Wells and Dallas Earl Wells; and the father of her children, Gary Lee Arbaugh.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Gordon Fossett of Pedro; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Alva and Patricia Arbaugh of Burlington; a brother, Kenneth Wells of Jackson; a sister, Georgia Ann Pryor of Florida; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Etna Cemetery with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

James Hammond

James T. Hammond of Winter Haven, Fla., went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

He was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Ironton, the second son of James A. and Colista Brumfield Hammond. He graduated with the Class of 1958.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie Stephens Hammond; a son, Jeffory Todd of Columbus; a daughter Leslie of Ocala, Fla.; a stepson, Bryan, and stepdaughter, Buffy Fleece of Columbus; three brothers, Pastor William R. Hammond of Ironton, Bryan Lynn of Huntsville Ala., and Phillip Winn of Sicily.

A memorial service will be conducted for the family with burial at Wheelersburg Memorial Gardens.

 

James Ison

James Alvin “Cuz” Ison, 53, of Pedro, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012. The Ironton native was born Dec. 10, 1958, the son of Dorothy Watkins Ison of Coal Grove and the late Kenneth Ison Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife Brenda Gullett Ison.

Cuz was a 1977 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a surface coal miner for Addington Mining/Horizon Natural Resources/Miller Brother’s Coal/Boothe Energy. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Masonic Lodge #532 of Waterloo.

In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Stephen Ison and Robert Lee ‘Bobby’ Ison.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by son, James A. Ison Jr. of Pedro; son, Joe Ison of Pedro; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Thurman Richardson of Pedro; companion, Debbie Lynn Crabtree; brother, Ken Ison of Pedro; brother, Jerry Ison of Coal Grove; brother, David Ison of Ironton; brother, Johnny Ison of Ironton; sister, Ann Spurlock of Flatwoods, Ky.; sister, Brenda Moore of Ironton; sister, Lisa Abrams of Pedro; sister, April Avery of Burlington; sister, Stephanie Gillum of Pedro; grandchildren, Natalie, Ashlynn, Joshua, Andy and Anthony Ison; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Gullett officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Douglas Wiley

Douglas Dale Wiley, 53, of Chesapeake, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Denise Bradley Wiley, who survives. Lily Marlene Stamper, 53, formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
