Kevin McFann, 53, of South Point, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his residence.  Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, , is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

 

Fred Hankins

Fred Robert “Ted” Hankins, 80, of Ironton passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his residence. The Superior native was born Sept. 26, 1931 the son of the late Fred Nixon and Ava Morrison Hankins. He is survived by his wife Betty Harmon Hankins whom he married Dec. 25, 1952.

Ted attended Dawson-Bryant schools and was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea. He retired in 1984 after 32 years as an iron worker for the Dayton Malleable Iron Company. Ted enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel, William and Edward Hankins and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Terry Hall of Campobello, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim Myers of Kitts Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Tomi and Randy Harper of Kitts Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Rachel Hankins of Scottown; a daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Bill Delawder of Ironton; a brother, Earl Hankins of Ironton; a sister, Betty Jo Meenach of Worthington, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be noon Wednesday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point with the Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Ted’s name to Community Hospice Care, 1538 Central Ave. Ashland, Ky. 41101. Linda Dodson, 64, of Ironton, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at her residence. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

James Cornett

James Cornett, 79, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, May 18, 2012, at The V.A. Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland. There will be no visitation. Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
