Rhonda Stevens

Rhonda Stevens, 47, of Kitts Hill, passed away on the morning of May 21, 2012 in Golden Meadows, La. Rhonda won the last battle of a long illness with cancer and was freed to take her place with her husband forever in God’s care. She had been in the loving care of her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Karen Samples since the death of her husband J.R. in 2011.

Rhonda was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a dialysis technician.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by mother, Shirley Ashworth Samples; father, Ronald Samples; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Jean Stevens; a niece, Carri Jenkins McKnight. She is survived by son, James David “J.D.” Stevens of Kitts Hill; daughter-in-law, Nicole Stevens of Columbus; grandson, Tyler James “T.J.” Stevens of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Karen Samples of Golden Meadows; a sister and brother-in-law, Patty and L. J. Jenkins Hanging Rock; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Debbie and Vince Sheridan, Jamie and Doug Kerns, Karen Stevens, Marilyn and Matt Matney, Carolyn Brown, Rhoda and Mark Roach, and Barry and Angie Stevens, all of Ironton; and many nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews who were all special to her.

She also leaves behind many long time friends and co-workers who kept vigil over her with prayers and well wishes.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit, www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Brenda F. Linville, 66, of Grayson Ky., died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sparks Funeral Home with Brother Warren Vanover officiating.
