Appalachian Uprising continues tonight

SCOTTOWN — It’s a sure sign of approaching summer for bluegrass aficionados. The annual Appalachian Uprising began Thursday and continues through Saturday at the Eden Valley Farm in Scottown.

The event brings thousands of bluegrass and traditional folk music fans to northeastern Lawrence County each year.

This year’s music lineup includes Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder at 9 p.m. Friday, Mountain Heart at 7:15-8:45 Saturday, Don Rigsby and Midnight Call at 3:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday and Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain at and 1-1:45 p.m. Friday.

Tickets are available for purchase at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted free with paid adult ticket holder.

Daily ticket prices are $40 Friday and $45 Saturday.

Camping and parking is included with the ticket price.
