Olga Klaiber

Sept. 30, 1934-June 2, 2012

Olga Mae Hitchcock Klaiber, 77, of Ironton, took her heavenly flight on Saturday, June 2, 2012, to be home with her Savior and family. The Johnson County, Ky., native was born Sept. 30, 1934, to Sarah Myrtle Lemaster Hitchcock  of Waverly, who survives and the late Willie Hitchcock. On Oct. 13, 1951, she married Carl M. Klaiber who preceded her in death on March 15, 1986.

Olga was a 1951 graduate of Green High School and a member of Franklin Furnace Independent Church. She retired in 1995 after 17 years as a clerk for the Lawrence County General Hospital.

In addition to her mother she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathy Klaiber of Ohio Furnace; daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Larry Voiers of Ohio Furnace; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cindy Klaiber of Hazelton, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Frannie Klaiber of Franklin Furnace; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Krysti Klaiber of Catlettsburg, Ky.; and daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Lee Cherry of Ohio Furnace.

She was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Carrie, Nelson, Sarah,  Chris, Jon, Justin, Kim, Macey and Madison. She was also a great grandmother to 13 great grandchildren. She was also survived by brother and sister-in-law, James and Brygida Hitchcock of Laurelville;

sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dan Maddox of Waverly; and sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Jim Nickell of Waverly; two loving caregivers, Michael Fitch and Jenny Smathers.

In addition to her husband and father she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Ronnie and Gary Hitchcock. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Franklin Furnace Independent Church with Pastor Dennis Hankins and Pastor Nelson Klaiber officiating.
