1 life-flighted following collision on State Route 93

One person has been life-flighted and two others taken to a local hospital following a two-car collision on State Route 93.

The accident happened just before 2 p.m. near the 2-mile marker between old Route 75 and Hecla Road.

Sgt. Chris Smith with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said witnesses stated a vehicle going northbound on State Route 93 lost control and went left of center, hitting a southbound-traveling vehicle head-on.

Information about the passengers’ condition was not yet available. The driver of the northbound car was flown to a nearby trauma center and the two passengers of the other car were taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.

Smith said the accident is still under investigation.
