Dale Carrico

Owen Dale Carrico, 62, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center Ironton Campus. The Lawrence County native was born May 3, 1950, the son of the late Carl and Mildred Nance Carrico.

Dale was a 1968 graduate of Coal Grove High School and attended Ohio University for two years. He was a member of the Leatherwood Missionary Baptist Church and the Ironton Eagles.

He is survived by a cousin, Larry Carrico of Kitts Hill.

Lana Eaton

Lana Kay Crank Eaton, 62, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born March 2, 1950, the daughter of the late Milton and Reva Adkins Crank. She is survived by her husband, David C. Eaton.

Mrs. Eaton was a 1968 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Sheridan Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Crank and Chester Crank and a sister, Louise Mannon.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and John Thompson of Ironton; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Beverly Crank of South Point and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Aldridge and Marie Ackerson both of Ironton and Mary and Manuel Aldridge of London, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Crank and the Rev. Manuel Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery. Mary Hunt

Mary Opal Hunt, 79, of Huntington, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral will be noon Saturday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio. Melva Parsons

Melva Louise Erwin Parsons, 75, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral will be noon Friday at Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Norris offiating. Burial will follow in Ronks Cemetery, Milton,W.Va. Debra Morrison

Debra Kay Morrison, 62, of Huntington, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was the wife of Jimmy Morrison III, who survives. Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio with Ryan Zipperian officiating. Visitation will be 6 – 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donald Hixon

Donald Hixon, 73, of Franklin Furnace, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at a Wheelersburg health care facility. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

Janie McClain

Janie Lou McClain, 51, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born July 26, 1961, the daughter of the late Thelbert and Mary Bostic McClain.

Janie attended Open Door School and was a former employee at Tri-State Industries. She attended the City Mission Church in Ironton.

She is survived by five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Eugene “Bud” McClain, James Richard McClain, Steve A. McClain and Brent and Debbie McClain all of Ironton and Howard and Karen McClain of Cleveland, Tenn.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Peggy and Mike Keating, Tammie McClain, Paula and Mike Eastham and all of Ironton, and Patricia Russell of Florida; a special friend, Janet James of Ironton; several nieces and nephews and a half brother, Leon Myers of Newark, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Cremeans and the Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Leslie Keeton

Leslie Keeton, 91, of Flatwoods Ky., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Lloyd Bailey officiating. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park with military honors to be conducted at the mausoleum by the VFW Post 8850 of Ironton, Ohio. Frances Thompson

Frances Louise Thompson, 91, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, July 30, 2012, at River’s Bend Health Care Center in South Point, Ohio. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Woodmere Memorial Park at the Abbey of Remembrance Mausoleum by the Rev. Eddie Salmons. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
