GALLIPOLIS — The Ironton Fighting Tigers usually struggle at Cliff Side Golf Course.

Not this time.

Ironton came away with a win Thursday as they beat the River Valley Raiders in a duel match.

Ironton had a 190-team score to beat the Raiders by 34 strokes.

Rhett Ball took medalist honors as he led Ironton with a 41. Jaylen Thornhill was just three shots back at 44 while Cory Rawlins shot a 50 and Luke Diamond carded a 55.

Travis Taylor finished with a 57 for Ironton.

Jacob Gilmore shot a 53 to lead River Valley’s top four scores. Logan Sheets was right behind with a 54, Dan Goodrich had a 56 and Cliff Chapman shot a 61. Also playing for the Raiders were Zach Morris with a 64 and Jordan Swisher with a 65.
