LLOYD, Ky. — Evenly matched teams meant an even game.

The St. Joseph Flyers and Greenup County Musketeers battled to a 2-2 tie in a soccer game on Thursday.

“Greenup County fields a very athletic team with all seniors. We linked up well in the attack third of the pitch, and our defense turned in a solid effort,” said Flyers’ coach Tim Hopkins.

Joseph Payton scored to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead.

Seth Boyle got a direct free kick as Greenup tied the game at the half.

“We challenge our players to start the match strong and they responded,” said Hopkins.
