COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State confirmed Monday that the 12th-ranked Buckeyes’ game on Sept. 22 at Ohio Stadium against UAB will kick off at noon.

The Big Ten announced the start times for several games on that Saturday.

That means that the Buckeyes first four games, all non-conference and all at home, will kick off at noon.

The only other times that have been announced are 8 p.m. for the home game against Nebraska on Oct. 6 and also the game at Indiana on Oct. 13, 6 p.m. at Penn State on Oct. 27, and a noon kickoff for the annual game against rival Michigan on Nov. 24 at Ohio Stadium.

Lawyer in OSU case

tries to keep license

COLUMBUS (AP) — The lawyer whose email tips about Ohio State football players trading memorabilia for tattoos triggered a scandal leading to NCAA sanctions against OSU’s football program is trying to avoid suspension of his law license.

The Columbus Dispatch reports lawyer Christopher Cicero’s attorney told the Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday that the sales were generally known in Columbus.

The court’s disciplinary board previously found that Cicero violated confidences of would-be client and tattoo-parlor owner Edward Rife when he wrote former Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel to warn him about the sales. Cicero says he learned of the sales before meeting Rife.

The board has recommended a six-month license suspension for violating professional rules of conduct.

Cheating scandal

rocks Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Harvard basketball co-captain Kyle Casey plans to withdraw from school amid a cheating scandal that also may involve other athletes, according to several reports.

Sports Illustrated and the Harvard Crimson reported Tuesday that Casey, a senior, would withdraw in an attempt to preserve a year of eligibility once the issue is resolved.

Co-captain Brandyn Curry also has been implicated in the scandal and is weighing his options, his father told the magazine. The Boston Herald reported Curry also is expected to withdraw from classes.

The school is looking into whether at least 125 undergraduates cheated by working together on a take-home final exam in the spring.
