Buffalo Wild Wings has
‘Super Toe’ contest
Buffalo Wild Wings of Ironton is offering fans a chance to win free wings for a year with their “Super Toe” contest.
Fans attending the Ironton-Ashland game can purtchase a chance to kick a field goal at halftime. If the contestant makes the field goal, they win free wings for everyone in the stadium. Contestants also have the chance to win free wings for a year.
Ticket donations will be sold much like a split-the-pot with a share of the proceeds going to the Ironton Tiger Clan, compliments of Buffalo Wild Wings.
John Jones Memorial
golf scramble Sept. 22
The Coal Grove Lions Club will conduct the first annual John Jones Memorial 3-man golf scramble Sept. 22 at the Ironton Country Club.
There is a 20-team limit and spots are filling up quickly.
Entry fee is $150 per team and lunch will be provided at 12:30 p.m. by Texas Roadhouse. A shotgun start will begin at 2 p.m.
Hole sponsorship is $50.

South Point boosters
to hold golf scramble
The South Point athletic boosters will conduct a golf scramble Saturday, Sept. 29, at Diamond Links Golf Course in Catlettsburg, Ky.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Fee is $60 per player. Door prizes and competitive awards will be given. Fee includes a meal catered by Texas Roadhouse.
Basketball officials’
class set for Sept. 22
The Ironton Chapter of Basketball Officials, in conjunction with the Ohio High School Athletic Association, will conduct an Ohio basketball officiating class beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 at Chesapeake Middle School.
The class consists of rule interpretation, mechanics, lectures by veteran officials and live scrimmages.
Fee is $140 and pays for all testing and licensing. Students are responsible for their own official’s uniform.

Community Hospice 5K
race set Oct. 20 at OUS
The Community Hospice 3rd Annual Run in Remembrance 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Ohio University in Ironton.
Long sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 participants.
The mostly flat course will run through the south end of Ironton. Pre-registration is $15 through Oct. 13 and $20 after that day and race day.

Chesapeake 5K race
scheduled for Oct. 13
The 17th annual Chesapeake Octoberfest 5K race will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Triangle in Chesapeake. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.
The top male and female finishers receive $50 each. Pre-registration is $15 and $20 after Oct. 4. Interested persons may pre-register by sending an email to Dannie Newman at dnnwm740@frontier.com
Lady Oaks conducting
fall basketball league
The Oak Hill Lady Oaks girls’ basketball program is conducting a fall league.
Fee is $35 per play or $200 per team. Games will be played on Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 6 through Nov. 4 in the high school gym. Teams are guaranteed two games per weekend.
The league is open to grades 3-through-8 for school teams only. For grades 3-7 players can all be from the same school. Eighth graders can only have two players from the same school on a team. Players who do not have a team may still participate and placed on a team.
Players receive a reversible jersey. Licensed official will be on site along with a scorekeeper.
