CLEVELAND (AP) — Former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel has joined a local TV station as a special contributor.
Tressel, who was forced out as the Buckeyes coach after 10 years at the school by a cash-for-tattoos scandal involving players, will do a weekly report for WKYC-TV. “A Moment With Jim Tressel,” will air each Wednesday during the station’s 7 p.m. newscast. Tressel currently works as a vice president of strategic engagement at the University of Akron, where he began his coaching career as an undergraduate assistant in 1975.
The school created the position for Tressel.
WKYC general manager Brooke Spectorsky said Tressel’s motivational speeches and best-selling books will serve as the basis for his “Moment” segments.
The 59-year-old Tressel has not said if he wants to coach again.
