Tickets for the Ironton at Oak Hill game are on sale in the high school auto shop office during school and business hours until 2 p.m. Friday. All tickets are $5.

Ironton youth basketball

registration planned

The Ironton Recreation Department will conduct youth basketball registration from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, at the Ironton City Center.

Tryouts and final registration will be held from 6-to-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Ironton Middle School gym.

 

 

Memorial golf scramble

for Pinkerman Oct. 20

The Phil Pinkerman 4-man Memorial Golf Scramble will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Oaks Golf Club in Flatwoods, Ky.

Community Hospice 5K

race set Oct. 20 at OUS

The Community Hospice 3rd Annual Run in Remembrance 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Ohio University in Ironton.

Long sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 participants.

The mostly flat course will run through the south end of Ironton. Pre-registration is $15 through Oct. 13 and $20 after that day and race day.

NOTE: The race will block city streets from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.The race runs from Heplar to Kent to 12th to Lorain and back to Heplar.

 

 

Rio Grande to host

annual recruiting day

RIO GRANDE — The University of Rio Grande athletic department will host an Athletic Recruiting Day on Sunday, Oct.28 on the URG campus.

Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Lyne Center. Information on admissions, financial aid, housing and eligibility will be available to prospective student-athletes. A campus tour is also included.

Rio Grande, which is a member of the NAIA Division I Mid-South Conference, fields teams in women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, baseball, softball and cheerleading.

The school also offers opportunities for individuals wishing to be a part of the cheerleading and dance teams as well.
