Ironton 28, Oak Hill 0

OAK HILL — The Ironton Fighting Tigers dominated on both sides of the ball as they snapped a three-game losing streak and blanked the Oak Hill Oaks 28-0 on Friday.

Patrick Lewis ran 19 times for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Trevor White carried 22 times for 138 yards and two scores. White and Derik Berry had interceptions.

The Fighting Tigers had 405 yards rushing and 74 through the air for 479 total yards. Oak Hill managed just 41 net yards rushing. Drew Haislop was 9 of 21 for 183 yards but was intercepted twice and Ironton dropped two potential pick-six.

Ironton (6-3) fumbled on the Oaks’ 1-yard line and were whistled 10 times for 99 yards in penalties.

 

Chesapeake at Coal Grove

COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Hornets controlled the clock and the game as they beat the Chesapeake Panthers 46-14 Friday in a battle for first place in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Hornets (5-3, 4-0) had scoring drives that covered 77 yards in 19 plays, 61 yards in 16 plays, and 95 yards in eight plays.

Coal Grove rushed 58 times for 287 yards as Brandon Hogsten had 106 yards on 17 carries. Isaiah Gunther ran 10 times for 81 yards and Alex Bare returned a third quarter interception 55 yards for a score.

The Hornets led 8-0 at the half before blowing the game open in the second half.

Jacob Collins had five carries for 72 yards and a score while Nate Jones had 12 carries for 70 yards to lead the Panthers (4-5, 3-1).

 

Fairland at Rock Hill

PEDRO — Tyree Ceasar and Nathan Campbell ran for more than 100 yards as the Fairland Dragons rolled past the Rock Hill Redmen 50-7 on Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Ceasar ran 19 times for 120 yards and a touchdown while Campbell ran 13 times for 103 yards and two scores to lead the Dragons (4-5, 2-2). Chance Short was 3 of 6 passing for 56 yards including a 21-yard scoring strike to Kyle Sowards.

Shane Harper ran 21 times for 80 yards to lead the Redmen (1-8, 1-3) including a 16-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 30-7 at the half.

 

Sciotoville East at Green

FRANKLIN FURNACE — Justin Crager ran for 234 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries as the Sciotoville East Tartans outscored the Green Bobcats 50-37 Friday in a Southern Ohio Conference I game.

East (4-5, 1-2) led 30-13 at the half as Crager scored twice. Green (3-6, 0-3) took a 7-0 lead on Rob Applegate’s 28-yard run in the first quarter. He also had a 39-yard scoring run to start the second quarter to get the Bobcats within 14-13.

Levi Mollett had a 3-yard scoring run for Green in the third quarter and Kyle Frazier had a 1-yard scoring run and a 58-yard TD pass from Chris Applegate in the second half.
