Ohio State-Wisconsin

kickoff set for 3:30

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Big Ten announced on Monday that No. 5 Ohio State’s game on Nov. 17 at Wisconsin will kick off at 3:30 p.m.

The game will be televised by ABC/ESPN2.

The Buckeyes (10-0, 6-0 Big Ten) have a bye this week. The Badgers (6-3, 3-2) have won five of their six home games. They play at Indiana this Saturday.

The Ohio State-Wisconsin game could determine who represents the Leaders Division in the Big Ten championship game. The Buckeyes and Penn State (6-3, 4-1) are eligible to win a division title but are not permitted to play in the title game or a bowl because of NCAA sanctions. Wisconsin is third in the division but the top eligible team.

UK players’ telethon

benefits storm relief

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky players will be part of a statewide telethon Wednesday night benefiting Superstorm Sandy relief efforts.

The telethon will air from 7-8 p.m. on WKYT with Wildcats players taking phone calls and donations and continue for 24 hours. All proceeds will go toward storm victims.

Wildcats coach John Calipari came up with the idea after talking with friends in affected areas in New Jersey and New York. In January 2010 he organized a Hoops for Haiti telethon benefiting victims of the Haitian earthquake.

Kentucky sophomore guard and New Jersey native Brian Long said his family had lost electricity but emerged from the storm fairly well. He said relief efforts such as the telethon “shows that coach Cal cares and that people around the country care and want to help.”
