IRONTON — No one was seriously injured in a two-car accident on State Route 93 Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at about 9:44 a.m. near Hecla Road/County Road 7C in the southbound lanes of State Route 93.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver at fault, Brian Skaggs, 25, of Pedro, rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Lori Ellis, 44, of Bidwell, while it was stopped for other traffic.

“The two vehicles involved were traveling southbound on State Route 93 at Hecla Road, County Road 7C, when a third vehicle that was traveling southbound stopped to make a left turn,” said Trooper Rob McClelland. “So the one vehicle behind him stopped and then the next vehicle in line struck the one in the rear.”

McClelland said Skaggs was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

“There was one claimed injury,” McClelland said. “She was not transported from the scene. She may seek medical treatment later.”
