Molverine Simpson
Molverine “Jean” Simpson, 75, of Russell, Ky., passed away Saturday Jan. 5, 2013, at her residence. The Pikeville, Ky., native was born May 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Dan and Gladys Thacker Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Russell Simpson.
Mrs. Simpson attended school in Pikeville, Ky., and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Harris; two brothers, William David Adkins and Clyde Adkins; and one infant brother, Ernest.
She is survived by son, Jeffery Adkins and his wife, Andrea of Russell; daughter, Jennifer Cahoon and Rex Lawless of Ironton; a grandson, Rex Lawless II of Ironton; two granddaughters, Asley Lively and Shannon Lynd and her husband, Scott; four great grandsons, Noah, Gabe, Eli, and Sam; two faithful companions: Jack and Molly; brothers, Jack Adkins of Indiana, Tracy Adkins and his wife, Cheryl of Indiana, Cordell Adkins of Lucasville and Lawrence Adkins of Michigan; and sisters, Brenda Penland and her husband, Randy of Indiana, Gloria Rhode and her husband, Dean of Indiana, and Norma Hillard of Virginia. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Nichols and Senior Deacon David Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Catlettsburg Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Marcella Scarberry
Marcella Fay Scarberry, 74, of South Point, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at home. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
Patricia Mahlmeister
Patricia K. (Trish) Mahlmeister of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. She was the wife of Patrick Mahlmeister. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Ashland with a rosary at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Ironton.
Dorothy E. Francis
Dorothy E. Bonzo-Francis, 95 of Sharonville, formerly of Greenup County, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Brookwood Retirement Community in Cincinnati. Graveside service will be conducted at the Ashland Cemetery at 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be no visitation. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
