Panthers, Dragons place 5 wrestlers in sectional meet

The Fairland Dragons and Chesapeake Panthers had five wrestlers each place in the sectional tournaments.

In Division III, Chesapeake had four wrestlers finish fifth and another sixth.

Logan McCloud pinned Hayden Bolyard of Trimble in 0:56 to finish fifth in the 106-pound class.

At 113 pounds, Sawyer Stephens decisioned Robert Hoffman of Meigs 9-4. Jaycob Kitchen had an 11-3 major decision of Matt Carroll of Zane Trace.

The other fifth place finisher was Cole Webb who pinned Brad Harless of Meigs in 1:31 of the 285-pound division.

Finishing sixth was Nick Lucas who was pinned by Justin Fulk of Crooksville at 4:22.

In team results, Belpre was first with 201.5 points followed by Paint Valley with 130, Southeastern 128.5, Zane Trace 127.5, Crooksville 120.5, Nelsonville-York 120.5, Westfall 105, Meigs 69, River Valley 68, Waterford 64, Wellston 56, Chesapeake 48, Trimble 45.5, Alexander 34 and Adena 26.

Fairland had one fifth-place finish as Jordan Holman pinned Tommy Renick of New Lexington at 1:11 in the 132-pound class.

The other fourth Fairland wrestlers placed sixth.

Austin Earles was decisioned 13-9 by Austin Webb of Vinton County at 113 pounds. Timmy Emery was pinned by Austin Ratliff of New Lexington at 4:08 in the 126 class.

In the 195-pound class, Zack McKinney was pinned by Isaac McFann of New Lexington at the 2:35 mark. Alan Woodall was pinned by Michael Harsha of Vinton County at 1:57 in the 220 division.
