Tickets for the Ironton Fighting Tigers’ Division III district tournament game are on sale in the high school auto shop garage office.

Tickets are $6 in advance and the school receives only a percentage of the pre-sale.

Ironton plays Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m. at the Ohio University Convocation Center.

Ironton plays Adena at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Ohio University’s Convocation Center.

 

Ironton Little League

plans March 2 signups

The Ironton Little League will conduct its registrations beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ironton City Center.

Youths ages 4-16 may register. A parent or legal guardian must be present and supply a copy of birth certificate and three proofs of residency.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, March 9, at the Ironton Middle School.

Tryout times are: 10 a.m. boys 11-12; 10:30 girls 11-12; 11:00 boys 9-10; 11:30 girls 9-10; Noon boys 7-8; 12:30 p.m. girls 7-8.

Also, anyone interested in being a coach or manager should have applications returned by Friday.

Player registrations will be accepted the day of tryouts prior to designated tryout time.

Coal Grove Little League

The Coal Grove Little League will conduct registration for baseball and softball from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Dawson-Bryant High School.

Registrations fee is $30 for one child and $50 for two. Youths need a birth certificate and three proofs of residency.

 

Rock Hill Little League

The Rock Hill Little League will conduct registration for baseball and softball from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Rock Hill Elementary.

Fee is $35 for the first child and $25 for each additional sibling.

Children age 8 and under need a birth certificate. Children 9 and older need a birth cerficate and three proofs of residence.

 

Lady Vikings’ softball

to hold rummage sale

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team will conduct their sixth annual rummage sale on Saturday, March 2, in the high school gym. The rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Anyone who wants to donate items should bring them to the school from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, or contact coach Odie Estep for pickup.

McCallister Scouting

to conduct combines

The McCallister Scouting Report will be directing three separate MSROHHIO Developmental football combines during the month of March.

These combines are endorsed by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.

Combines will be held at the Fieldhouse in Zanesville on March 3, at the Field Sports Arena in Monroe on March 17, and at Super Kick near Columbus on March 24. Registration for all combines is from 10:30-11:45. The combines begin at noon.

Any high school football player in the Classes of 2014, 2015 or 2016 is eligible to participate.

Players will be tested in the 40-yard dash, the vertical jump, the broad jump, the L-cone, the pro-shuttle, and the power ball throw.
