Helen Brose
Dec. 23, 1938 – Feb. 23, 2013
Helen “Jackie” Brose, 74, of Ironton passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Jo-Lin Nursing Home in Ironton. The Pulaski, Va. native was born Dec. 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles Earnest Morris and Geraldine (Fields) Crumpler.
Helen attended Pulaski High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wayne Crumpler and Sidney “Jimmy” Crumpler.
She is survived by five daughters, Carla Marshall of Ironton, Carolyn Eastham of Ironton, Connie Brose of Ironton, Christine (Mario) Drake of Flatwoods, Ky., and Tomi and Mark Leibee of Lousia, Ky.; two sons, Joe (Hollie) Brose of South Point and Rick McCardle of Marion; four sisters, Mary Jane Wetmore of Fredrick, Va., Joyce Christopher of Petersburg, Va., Judith Renshaw of Petersburg, Va., and Janice Bailey of Lillington, N.C.; one brother, Jerrol Crumpler of Macon, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. A memorial service will be scheduled at later date at the convenience of the family. Bobby Gene Johnson

Bobby Gene Johnson, 75, of South Point passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Jack Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
Bobby was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Ulysses and Goldie Brown Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Johnson. Bobby retired from Amcast, formerly Dayton Malleable Iron Company, after 45 years and was a loving husband, father and papaw.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Love Johnson; four children, Bertha (James) Allen of Florida, Debra (David) Baxley of North Carolina, Tina (Marcel) Layne and Jeff (Sarah) Johnson all of South Point; one sister, Ellen Stevens of Ironton; two brothers, Ronald and Louis Johnson of South Point; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Betty Lou Fowler Lawson
Feb. 15, 1930 – Feb. 23, 2013
Betty Lou Fowler Lawson, 83, of Scottown lost her courageous battle on this earth and won her reward in Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va.
Betty was born Feb. 15, 1930, daughter of the late Don Higgins and Adrienne Faulkner Higgins. She loved to travel, collect history of Lawrence County and was an avid genealogist. Betty retired from Mason Furniture Company in Point Pleasant, W.Va., and went on to do home health work for the elderly. She was a survivor of the 1967 Silver Bridge Disaster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband James William Bill Fowler in 1985; a sister Vera Freeman Graham and a brother Donald Dale Higgins.
Betty is survived by a son, Darrell (Brenda) Fowler; daughter Belinda (Jack) Blankenship; three grandchildren James Daniel J.D. Waston, Bryan Fowler and Tiffany Bland; two great-grandchildren William Lee Fowler and Hannah Taylor Watson; one brother Larry Higgins; one sister Carolyn Sue Blagg; her husband Bertin Lawson; special friend Jackie Christian and several friends, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 26 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Willie May and Pastor Darrell Fowler. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery Willow Wood. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday Feb. 25 at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville. Donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Mildred Elizabeth Rayburn-Lyons, 92 of Russell died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Community Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 11a.m. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington.
