Paul Edward Sites

Jan. 12, 1931-Feb. 20, 2013

Paul Edward Sites, of South Carolina and formerly of Coal Grove, passed away on Feb. 20, 2013. He was a Retired Chief Master Sergeant of the USAF. He was born Jan. 12, 1931, the son of the late Asa and Mary Sites.

He is survived by three sons, Michael, Mark and Doug Sites; several grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Clesenski and Mary Lou Sites; and one brother, Asa Sites Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Brammer Sites; three brothers, Joe, Bob and Kenneth Sites; and two sisters, Marie Hicks and Alice Sites.

There will be a memorial Service for Paul today in Pensacola, Fla.

 

 

Mary Cade

July 3, 1930 – March 7, 2013

Mary Juanita Cade, 82, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at her residence. The Deering native was born July 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Ratliff Sexton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Billy S. Cade.

Mrs. Cade was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Community Tabernacle where she was known as “The Mother” of the church. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Stephen A. Cade and Stewart C. Cade.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Pearson and Jeff Ray of Coal Grove and Teresa and Jeff Ellis of Ironton; a brother, Maurice Sexton of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and special friend and caregiver, Laurie Hicks.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton with Pastor Mark Adkins and Pastor Rick Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be Tuesday from 11a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brian Cade, James Cade, Craig Pearson, Brandon Dickess, Derik Dickess, Daniel Dickess and Jeffrey Ellis. Jack Hale

Jan. 15, 1927 – March 6, 2013

Jack William Hale, 86, of Ironton went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Sunset Nursing Center, Coal Grove. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 11 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with Pastor Rob Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery North East, Argillite, Ky., with military graveside services by Ironton VFW Post 8850.

Jack was born January 15, 1927 in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late William and Minnie Louise Church Hale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Hale, Billy Hale and Richard Hale; one son, William Fullerton; one grandson, David Fullerton and one great grandson, Scotty Seagraves.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII and worked as a crane operator for Mansbach Metals, Ashland, Ky. He enjoyed attending church, playing guitar, gardening and bowling. Jack is survived by his wife, Anna E. “Libby” Fullerton Hale; one son, Jack D. (Brenda) Hale of South Point; three daughters, Mary Boudreaux of Nederland, Texas, Pamela (Kevin) Holmes of Forestdale and Bonnie (Jay) Chapman of Ironton; one sister, Mary Letsche of South Point; two brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Hale and Fred (Linda) Hale, all of South Point; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home. Gary Boyd

Gary L. Boyd, 71, of Flatwoods Ky., died at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland Ky. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Audrey Boyd.

Katherine Aldridge

Katherine Jean Marie Aldridge, infant daughter of Charles Eugene Aldridge and Alisha Marie Robinson, both of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Carol Morgan; maternal great-grandfather, Danny Morgan; paternal great-grandmother, Katherine Skaggs; paternal great-grandfather, Fred Skaggs; paternal great grandparents, Burnal and Mary Aldridge.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Rex and Danette Robinson of Ironton; paternal grandparents, Carolyn and John Aldridge of Ironton; four uncles, Justin Tyler Robinson, Frank Aldridge, Burnal Aldridge and Fred Aldridge all of Ironton and several other special aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at Hanging Rock Cemetery with Rev. Rex Robinson officiating. There will be no visitation. John Moore

John Arthur Moore Jr, 55, of Proctorville died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moore.

Billy Eugene Rood, 73, of Proctorville, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va. He was the husband of Mary Rood, who survives.
