Corliss Parsons

Feb. 17, 1948-April 9, 2013

Corliss Jean Parsons, 65, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Alonzo “Steamboat” Harrison and Doris Anderson Harrison. She is survived by her husband, Russell W. Parsons, whom she married Dec. 18, 1970.

Mrs. Parsons was a 1966 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. She was a homemaker, a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove and a member of the Circle 6 at First Baptist Church in Ironton. She was also a member of the Ironton Band Boosters and was very active with Pack/Troop 103 Boy Scouts of America.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Parsons

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Derek and Jessica Parsons of South Point; son, Jerod and April Parsons of Proctorville; grandson, Eli Parsons of South Point; two brothers, Lonnie Ray and Peggy Harrison and Marion and Donna Harrison all of Deering; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery and visitation will be Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. James Christian

James Richard Christian, 14, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Friday at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly Church. 2485 Fourth Ave., Huntington, by Rev. David Viars and Rev. E.S. Harper.   Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va.     Visitation will be held 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the church. Rebecca Winn, 28, of Sciotoville, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lucasville Cemetery with Pastors Jr. Asberry and Ron Byers. Condolences may be made to the family on the Facebook page for Brown Funeral Chapel.
