HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Real estate agents from across the Tri-State region recently joined forces to help community children by raising $7,500 at the “Peeps” 5K Run/Walk for the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
In addition to their fundraising, race organizers said they saw an increased awareness of how the upgraded children’s hospital facility is a community investment.
“The Huntington Board of Realtors feels privileged and blessed for the opportunity to work with the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital for the benefit of all the children,” said David Roof, a realtor with McGuire Realty Company and President-Elect of the Huntington Board of Realtors Board of Directors.
More than 200 runners and walkers crossed the finish line this year at the event in Ritter Park in Huntington.
“The members of the Huntington Board of Realtors and their race volunteers are excellent examples of how our community has come together to support the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital and we greatly appreciate this generous donation,” said Velma Workman, Community Development Outreach Coordinator for the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation. “We appreciate the teamwork of everyone involved in this event and we are thrilled to call the Huntington Board of Realtors our partners in this project to enhance care for children.”
