John Kehoe

John Edward Kehoe, 69, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Aug. 24, 1943, a son of Janice Spangler Kehoe of Portsmouth and the late Joseph George Kehoe.

John was a graduate of Portsmouth Notre Dame High School and Ohio University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in history. He was also a graduate of The Ohio State University Law School. He was a retired attorney and of the Catholic faith. His hobbies included his love of boating and passion for woodworking, which led to the fixture at 917 South 6th Street his prize possession the “Chantilley,” a 1965 Cris-Craft.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by son, John “Jay” Kehoe of Ironton; daughter, Jennifer Kehoe of Cincinnati; daughter, Chelsea Kehoe of Ironton; daughter, Calle Kehoe of Ironton; granddaughter, Maya Mullins of Ironton; ex-wife, Roberta Groves Duncan of Portsmouth; ex-wife, Marta Williams Leach of Ironton; sister, Mary Patricia Haaf of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, Michael Joseph Kehoe of Farmville; brother, James Joseph Kehoe of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Kevin C. Kehoe of New York, N.Y. brother, Daniel Kehoe of New Castle, Colo.; and brother, Brian Francis Kehoe of New York, N.Y.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery . Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael Kehoe, Jimmy Kehoe, Daniel Kehoe, Kevin Kehoe, Brian Kehoe and Jay Kehoe. Charles Platt

Charles Kenneth Platt, 87, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at home. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Platt. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 150 Wood Lane Huntington, W.Va. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements. Gloria Grinstead

Gloria Roxanne Brinegar Grinstead, 52, of Kenova, W.Va., died Monday, July 8, 2013, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Brian Root. Burial will follow in Graham Cemetery, New Haven, W.Va.
