Reba Lykins

Nov. 27, 1946-Aug. 13, 2013

Reba Jean Lykins, 66, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at a local health care facility. The Ironton native was born Nov.27, 1946, the daughter of Rosella Murnahan Pierson of Ironton and the late Ernest Pierson.

Mrs. Lykins attended Hanging Rock Schools, was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, crocheting and making crafts. She attended the Hanging Rock Apostolic Church in Pigeon Hollow.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Kenneth “Toby” Hampton; her second husband: Woodrow Lykins; a son: Kenneth Hampton; and two brothers: George Pierson and Lloyd Pierson

In addition to her mother, she is survived by son: Chris Mollett of Ironton; daughter and son in law: Cheryl and David Maynard of Ironton; daughter: Margaret and Brownie Matheny of Pedro; daughter and son in law: Lori and David Gibbs of Columbus; daughter and son in law: Michelle and Bill Schwab of Ironton; son and daughter in law: Micheal and Jill Lykins of Ironton; daughter in law: Kristi Hampton of Ironton; a brother: Ernie Pierson of Ironton; a brother and sister-in-law: Bo and Goldie Pierson all of Ironton; a sister: Rosie Gillum of South Carolina; a sister and brother-in-law: Pam and Keith Akers of South Point; 19 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hanging Rock Cemetery with Elder John Sturgill officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Helen Perkins

July 20, 1930-Aug. 14, 2013

Helen Perkins, 83, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born July 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Challie and Amanda Jane Osborne Salyers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Perkins.

Mrs. Perkins attended Pine Grove Schools, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Challie Salyers Jr. and Walter “Peanut” Salyers.

She is survived by two daughters: Phyllis Slone of Ironton and Brenda K. McFann of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law: Rick D. and Debbie Perkins of Ironton; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. Beth Cade

Jan. 21, 1944-Aug. 14, 2013

Beth A. Cade, 69, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, and was born Jan. 21, 1944 in Ironton to the late Marshal and Anna (Campbell) Webb. Beth was 1964 graduate of Ironton High School. Surviving her is Jim Cade from Pedro (now of Heath,) whom she married Sept. 5, 1964; two children, James Michael Cade and Jamie Lynn McWhorter and a host of family members. Visitation will be held today from 5-8 p.m., at the Heath Chapel of Henderson- Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath. Linda Kinney

Nov. 9, 1954-Aug. 14, 2013

Linda Bragg Kinney, 58, of Russell, Ky., formerly of Proctorville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Oakmont Manor, Flatwoods, Ky. She was born Nov. 9, 1954, in Huntington, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her father Norman Bragg.

She is survived by her mother, Lorena Burd; daughter Brandy Ward; grandson Rowan Ward; sister Sherry (Mike) Hughes; aunt Marsha (Al) Estep; nieces Amber and Eden Hughes; many other family and friends including special friend Greg Bowen. The family wishes to express a special thanks to all the girls at Belfonte Beauty Academy, Russell, Ky, to Hospice and nurse Merri for their loving care.

James Miller

James E. Miller, 81, formerly of Pedro, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in Emeritus at Chestnut Hill in Columbus. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
