Carolyn Cremeans

Carolyn Sue Cremeans, 55, of Chesapeake passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born June 7, 1958, a daughter of the late Jack Short and Geneva Williamson Arms.

Carolyn attended Andis Schools and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Getaway. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert “Jude” Cremeans; two brothers, Bert and Bill Short; sister, Bonnie Riggs; nephew, Delbert Short; great-nephews, James Tyler Garrison and Ricky Lewis Short Jr.; and great-nieces, Heather Elaine Short and Sarah Marie Booth.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Shane Conley of Chesapeake; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Roman Johnson of Kitts Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Amos and Carla Cremeans of Coal Grove; sister; Mary Lewis of Kitts Hill; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Rosa Short of Kitts Hill; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Miranda Short of South Point; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Eric Cooper of Proctorville; three grandchildren, Selena and Chloe Johnson and Olivia Cremeans; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Don Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Phillips Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Erma Bowling

Erma Jean Bowling, 55, of Ironton, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. There will be a service at a later date at the convenience of the family. Armando Gordillo

Armando Mario Gordillo, 52 of South Point, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va., with Pastor Paul Bartrum officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Darrell Cartmill

Darrell Cartmill, 51, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
