Pointers blank Chesy; Lady Dragons win

CHESAPEAKE — Marq Harris may want a larger number.
Harris — who wears No. 4 – scored four goals as the South Point Pointers blanked the Chesapeake Panthers 5-0 in a boys’ soccer match Tuesday.
Harris had a pair of unassisted goals at the 4:00 and 22:00 minute marks of the first half as South Point took a 2-0 lead. Jordan Overstreet scored off an assist from Trey Kearns with 32:00 on the clock and it was 3-0 at the half.
Harris scored his next two goals at the 43:00 and 47:00 minute marks of the second half to cap the scoring.
Goalkeeper Brady Rickard had five saves for the Pointers. Chesapeake goalie Blake Ridenous had 18 saves.
South Point (7-1-1) hosts Portsmouth Clay at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Lady Dragons win 10th
PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons ran their record to 10-4 on the season with an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win over the Rock Hill Redwomen Tuesday.
Fairland won in straight sets 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 and improved to 6-1 in the OVC.
Chandler Fulks had 13 points and Jenna Fulks 12 points and 12 digs to lead Fairland.
Madison Riley had 10 digs and 7 hits, Kelsey Riley 8 hits and 3 kills, and Taylor Perry added 3 kills.
Brooklyn Massie led Rock Hill with 8 points.
In the reserve match, Fairland won 25-14, 25-19 as Caelan Huff had 10 points.
Fairland hosts Coal Grove Thursday.
