Hugh Donald Scott II graduated from Ironton High School in 2002 and went off to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and completed 4 years in pre-med. During the summers, he started working with Teach Baltimore, an off-shoot of Teach for America.

He fell in love with it and the children, and the rest was history. Scott completed his training in the Teach for America program with honors and worked in Nash Central High School for three years as a teacher.

He worked as a teacher-liaison in the math and science departments for the district for two years and was selected to participate in the master’s program. While in training he was promoted as an assistant principal at Southern Nash High School where he worked for two years and will be currently working there as a principal.
