CHILLICOTHE — Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a slip repair project on U.S. Route 23 in Scioto County.

Crews from the Alan Stone Company are tentatively scheduled to begin work Monday, Nov. 11, to rebuild and stabilize an existing slope and repair a slip located along the southbound lanes at the route’s 2.60-mile marker.

The project site is located at the northern corporation limit of Portsmouth, between Selma Street and Township Road 162 (Lowry Hollow Road), and throughout construction, the route will be reduced to one 12-foot lane in the southbound direction. Northbound U.S. 23 should not be affected by this project.
