Fallen soldiers memory always will live on

Curtis Ray Crum was my good friend and classmate at Dawson-Bryant High School Class of 1966. He died 45 years ago today, Dec. 1, 1968, at Hau Nghia, Vietnam.
I never saw Curt without a smile and a kind word, I have never forgotten his encouragement to me on days when I needed a smile and a kind word. He was that kind of a friend.
I think about how much better the world could have been if my friend had not been there that day in Vietnam.
Now, his name is on the Wall in Washington, D.C., and I have visited it there many times. I do honor his service to our country.
I wish I had the opportunity to see his smile and hear his kind word just one more time.
Curt, you are in my thoughts and I miss you friend.
