Gary Brown

Feb. 12, 1950-Dec. 18, 2013

 

Gary Michael “Dog” Brown, 63, of Kitts Hill, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the VA Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born Feb. 12, 1950, in Ironton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Brown and Rosemary Brown; one brother David Brown; and the love of his life Connie Sue Brown. He is survived by two daughters, Robyn (Wes) Sites of Chesapeake and Nici (Brent) Cooper of Oak Hill; four grandchildren Meghan and Maccoy Brown, Landon and Brenton Cooper; one sister Janet Sue “Susie” Lockwood of Proctorville; stepsister, Jeri Riggle of Willow Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and a very talented auto body repairman with a love for loud and fast cars. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Monday, at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Tim Holmes. Proctorville VFW Post 6878 will conduct military rites. Sidney Bare

Aug. 30, 1925-Dec. 20, 2013

 

Sidney Fields Bare, 88 of Ironton, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Clark County, Idaho, native was born Aug. 30, 1925, the son of the late Sidney T. and Minnie Crepps Bare. He is survived by his wife Emma Jane Moore Bare whom he married Nov. 17, 1946.

Mr. Bare was a graduate of Pedro High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Sidney was an operator for Ashland Oil for 17 years, and retiring in 1988. He was a deacon of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Bare; and a sister, Betty Grace Bare.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Janet Sue Waugh of Marion; a brother, Edward Bare of Ashland, Ohio; two granddaughters and their husbands, Tammy and Scott Galyk of Marion, and Juliane and James Gault of Toledo; and four great grandchildren, Britiani and Emily Galyk of Marion, and Cameron and Cole McKinley of Toledo.

Funeral services will be1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Linda McKnight

Nov. 24, 1938-Dec. 18, 2013

 

Linda Sue McKnight, 75, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Dyer Nursing Home in Dyer, Ind. The Ironton native was born Nov. 24, 1938, daughter of the late Russell and Marie (Willis) McKnight.

Linda is survived by a son, Eric (Melissa) McKnight, of Griffith, Ind.; grandchildren, Gabriel McKnight, Avery McKnight, Morgan McKnight, Elizabeth McKnight; brother, Richard (Marilyn) McKnight, and niece Carol McKnight.

A visitation will be from 4. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at the Tracy Brammer – Monroe Funeral Home.

Ruth Clay

Ruth Faulkner Clay, 98, of Huntington, W.Va., formerly of Proctorville, went to be with the Lord on Friday Dec. 20, 2013, at Rose Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center, Culloden, W.Va.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, by Pastor Glen Carmon. Burial will follow in Linnville Cemetery, Willow Wood. James Brammer

James Brady Brammer, infant son of Shawn Brammer and Tiffany J. Caudill of South Point, died Wednesday at home. There will be a private graveside service at Rome Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

Jerry Perry

Jerry Allen Perry, 57, of Crown City, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was the husband of Sherry Clark Perry, who survives.
