Kenneth McGuire

Kenneth Ray McGuire, 69, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. The Lawrence County native was born Dec. 2, 1944, a son of the late Warren and Marie Chinn McGuire.

Kenneth was a 1962 graduate of Coal Grove High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of M&M Mailing Company Inc. in South Point for 30 years and a former employee of the Ironton Coke Plant. He was a member of the Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church in South Point where he was a former deacon and current trustee and adult Sunday school teacher. He was a member and former Past Master of the South Point Masonic Lodge No. 47 and served on the board of directors of the Huntington City Mission. Kenneth was a loving husband, devoted father and was a kind and compassionate friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Rae McGuire.

Kenneth is survived by his wife; Susie Whaley McGuire; daughter, Lauren McGuire; at home daughter, Tamara (Greg) Reeves, of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Amanda (Michael) Schritter, of South Point; twin sister, Kay Edwards, of Ironton; brother; Steve (Linda) McGuire, of Jupiter, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brody Reeves, of Richmond, Va., Drake McGuire, of South Point, and Logan Schritter, of South Point.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sybene Independent Missionary Church in South Point with pastor D.L. Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside rites by VFW Post No. 8850.  Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Nancy Goodall

Nancy Ellen Goodall, 78, of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville with pastor Todd Kinkaid officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery.

 

 

Coleen Nelson

Coleen Nelson, 57, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

 

 

Joan Hale

Joan L. Hale, 81, of Raceland, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. Timothy Bays

Timothy Dean Bays, 54, of Greenup, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Greenup First United Methodist Church with pastors Robert Carter and Jerry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Greenup, Ky.
