David Schochler

David Earl Schochler, 66, of Chesapeake, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at his residence. David was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Houston, Texas, a son of the late Alvin and Myrtle Hobbs Schochler. He was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and a member of Christ Community Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Bethany Schochler; and his brother, Bobby Schochler. David is survived by his wife, Connie Fout Schochler; two daughters, Kassey Day, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Trudy Jones, of Willis, Texas; one stepson, Aaron Jobe, of Columbus, Ind.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; and two sisters, Betty McMaster, of Jasper, Texas, and Donna Ellis, of Texas. David loved his church family dearly and they will miss his hugs and “hello darlings.”

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with pastor Kermit Taylor officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Darrel Perry

Darrel Eugene Perry, 51, of Ironton, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Ironton. Darrel was born July 10, 1962, the son of the late Earl Eugene Perry and Billie Lee Deskins Perry who survives.

Darrel attended and graduated from Rock Hill School.  Darrel went to work on a part-time basis for Frecka Plumbing when he was in the 10th grade and continued to work while attending high school and for an additional 10 years. He was employed with AK Steel.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by grandparents, William and Geraldine Deskins, and Jessie and Mary Perry.

Darrel is survived by the love of his life, daughter Chelsea.

In addition to his darlin’ Chelsea and his mother Billie Lee, he is survived by three sisters, Debbie Perry, Drema and Raymond Lewis, and Diane and Ed Anna; brother-in-law, Tim Stapleton; several cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.

Darrel loved to hunt and fish, but for the last few years he was busy being a full-time mother and father to his darlin’ Chelsea and working. He was a loving son, a great full-time father and a loving brother.  He will be greatly missed.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Etna Cemetery.  There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 

 

 

Teodorico Vidal

Teodorico L. Vidal Jr., 63, of Proctorville, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at home. He was the husband of M.J. Vidal, who survives. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Huntington, W.Va. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Dovie Darnell

Dovie Darnell, 91, of Bellefonte, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston Family Funeral Home, Ashland, Ky., with pastor Dennis Hankins officiating. Entombment will be in Edgewood Abbey Chapel Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday.
