Harold Parsons

On Dec. 12, 2013, Harold Vincent Parsons died in Ridgecrest, Calif., from brain cancer, which he had been fighting for over two years. He was born in Ironton Nov. 9, 1951, to Aubrey and Harold Parsons. He was known in school by his nickname, “Benny.”
Benny had one brother and sister-in-law. His wife, Bonnie, was by his side throughout his sickness. He had three children, a daughter, Katie Fae; and two sons, Steven and Kevin. Benny and his two sons were Marines. Benny had five grandchildren.
Ben was a firing officer for the naval weapons center at China Lake, Calif., for over 25 years. His mother, Aubrey, and stepfather, Terrance Pryor, live in South Point.
Benny was buried on Dec. 17 in Ridgecrest, Calif., with full colors from the Marine color guard as well as the color guard from the sheriff’s department for 17 years and the naval weapon center with a plaque of appreciation.
He was a wonderful son who will be missed by his family and hundreds of friends.

Myrtle Treadway
Myrtle Albertine Treadway, 85, of Ironton, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Judy Artis
Judy Anne Artis, 68, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

Beth McDaniel
Beth Ann McDaniel, 47, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at home. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home. There will be a private burial at Miller Memorial Gardens. Brady Vickers

Danny Nolen
