Staff Report
Officials for the City of Ironton expect the chemicals released into the Elk River last week to pass by Ironton between 8 p.m. and midnight tonight, a day later than previously thought.
Ryan Watts, superintendent for the Ironton Water Treatment Plant, issued a release saying the treatment plant will not be pumping during that time.
In addition, a spill at Kraton Polymers near Belpre will “not be harmful to our source of water, as it will be significantly diluted to harmless levels,” the release stated.
