SOUTH POINT — This one was over early.

The South Point Pointers built a big first half lead and cruised past the River Valley Raiders 68-32 Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We started well and got a big lead and then we were able to play a lot of people,” said Pointers’ coach Chris Barnes. “We had a lot of people do a lot of good things that don’t show up in the boxscore.”

Brandon Barnes scored 22 points as the South Point Pointers barely squeezed out a 68-32 win over the River Valley Raiders in an Ohio Valley Conference game Friday.

Marquis Foley had 17 points and Brady Rickard added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Pointers (5-4, 3-1).

Eli Ketron had eight rebounds and John Johnson had seven assists.

Barnes scored 11 points in the first quarter to ignite the Pointers’ to a 20-7 lead and they never looked back.

The lead was 34-15 at the half and 50-27 after three quarters.

South Point emptied its bench for the fourth quarter.
