A woman was transported to a local hospital after the vehicle she was driving rolled over and hit a parked car.
The incident happened at 9:41 a.m. Friday on Adams Street. A car was parked in the 400 block of Adams when a second vehicle westbound on the street failed to maintain control, according to Ironton Police Chief Dan Johnson.
“It struck the car causing it to flip over on its side,” Johnson said.
The parked car had minor damage to the driver’s side.
“The second vehicles damage was more extensive,” the chief said. “The damage disabled. It couldn’t be driven away from the scene.”
The investigation is ongoing. There were no reports of injury to the driver, who had to be cut from the front window, according to Tom Runyon, Ironton Fire chief.
“In that incident we had to cut out the front windshield to remove the vehicle’s occupant. The occupant was then turned over to Lawrence County EMS for medical attention.”
Soon after that incident, there was a second accident at Fifth and Railroad streets, which the police chief described as minor.
There was no more information about that available at press time.
