FRANKLIN FURNACE — Anything you can do, I can do better.

Green’s Trent Marcum poured in 30 points, but Symmes Valley’s Tyler Rowe stepped up and had a career-high 37 points as the Vikings held off the Bobcats 67-65 Friday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Tyler Rowe came through for us. We just kept giving him the ball and they couldn’t stop him. Marcum kept throwing it in for them. It was a good ball game,” said Vikings’ coach Donnie Saunders.

Jacob Klaiber scored seven of his eight points in the first quarter and the Vikings found themselves even with the Bobcats at 12-12.

Rowe fired in 15 of the Vikings’ 18 points in the second quarter but Marcum had eight for the Bobcats and it was 30-30 at the half.

Green took a 51-47 lead at the end of the third quarter as Marcum scored nine points and Hunter Lewis added five. Rowe had eight points and Dylan Malone five to keep the Vikings within striking range.

Marcum had nine more points in the fourth quarter, but Rowe scored 12 points as the Vikings outscored the Bobcats 20-14 and rallied for the win.

“Green played well. They handled our pressure and shot well. We were lucky to get out of there. They always play us tough,” said Saunders.

The Vikings hosts Beaver Eastern on Friday in a pivotal SOC game.

In the reserve game, Symmes Valley (11-1) won 58-36 as Blake Sells scored 16 and Shawn Belville 12. Andy Chavarria had 12 points and Patrick Riley 11 for Green.
