Beatrice Stephens
Beatrice K. “Bea” Stephens, 66, of Huber Heights, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at her residence. Bea was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ in Fairborn.
Bea was born and raised in Ironton and was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School in Coal Grove. She was a member of the Ironton Church of Christ at Tenth and Vine streets. She is survived by her husband, Dale; sons and daughters-in-law David (Janelle) Stephens, of Downingtown, Pa., and Michael (Nicole) Stephens, of Grove City; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Don Gee, of Ironton; brother, Roger Collins, of Ironton; grandchildren, Victoria and Christopher Stephens, of Downingtown, Pa.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ironton Church of Christ food bank.
Allen Perry
Allen Dale Perry, 63, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at his residence. The Huntington, W.Va., native was born Jan. 17, 1951, the son of the late Edgar and Ruth Norris Perry. Dale is survived by his wife, Jodie Pearson Perry, whom he married June 18, 1972.
Dale was a 1969 graduate of Buffalo-Wayne High School and worked maintenance at Lawrence Federal Bank.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Allen and Amy Perry Jr., of Ironton, and Tyler Perry and his fianceé, Johnna Seward, of Ironton; a daughter, Shelby Perry, of South Point; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Judy Perry, of Proctorville, Miles Perry, of Huntington, W.Va., Eddie and Debbie Perry, of South Point, and Scott and Becky Perry, of Lavalette, W.Va.; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Judith and Ronald Graham, of Lavalette, W.Va., and Donna and Larry Adkins, of Calabash, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with pastor Terry Wagner officiating. Visitation will be noon until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Jean Fayne
Jean (Imogene P. Pemberton) Fayne, 86, passed away on Jan. 18, 2014, at her home in Coal Grove. She was born on Feb. 11, 1927, in Coal Grove, to Ernest and Maude (Riedell) Pemberton and baptized at the Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church.
Jean grew up in Coal Grove and attended Dawson-Bryant High School. After high school Jean married her only love, Charles C. Fayne, and together they raised three beautiful daughters, Gloria Jean, Lana Dee, and Cathy Jo. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Jean enjoyed working as a waitress at Don Keys Restaurant for 12 years. Later, Jean was a member of the Ironton Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 895 and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8850. Her exceptional cooking and baking skills brought joy to family and friends. Jean was a champion shuffleboard player, loved to fish, an epic card player and favorite corn hole partner to her grandchildren.
Jean’s greatest passion in life was dancing. She danced every weekend at the senior citizen centers of Flatwoods and Greenup, Ky., and was always the life of the party. She got dressed up to go dancing, as she did every Friday night. She was ready a bit early so she grabbed a cookie and sat in her favorite chair. She closed her eyes for the last time.
Jean loved life, stayed strong and active to the end, and left with grace; a remarkable woman who motivated and inspired all who knew her, she will be profoundly missed by her daughters, grandchildren, family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by husband, Charlie; parents, Ernest and Maude Pemberton; sisters, Betty Turvey, Ruth Frische and Jane Pemberton; and brother, Keith Pemberton.
Jean is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Gloria and Ed Davis, of South Point, Lana and Tim Kuhn, of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Cathy Jo and Tim Olson, of Pedro; grandchildren, Craig Tibbs, Kimberly Tibbs-Duncan, Robbie Roberts, Sean Davis and John Tibbs; great-grandchildren, Amanda Roberts, Alexie Adkins, Natasha Tibbs, Jake Adkins, Carrie Beth Davis, Ericha Roberts, Corey Tibbs, Emily Davis, Alex Tibbs, Brooke Tibbs, Charlee Duncan, Luke Davis, Allison Tibbs, Drew Roberts, Reese Duncan and Brock Roberts; great-great-gandchildren, Makayla Roberts and TaiVon Mestel; sisters, Alice Barber and Charlotte Clark; nephew and close friend, Eddie Fayne; three step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; 13 step great-great-grandchildren; and special friends Henry Kimbler, Janet Bentley and Midge Browing.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with the Rev. Sallie Schisler officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robbie Roberts, Sean Davis, John Tibbs, Jake Adkins, Luke Davis and Pat Parnell.

Vernon Collier
Vernon E. Collier, 79, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home with pastor Randy Henderson and Michael Wright. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
