Reds’ caravan stops Saturday in Ashland

CINCINNATI — The baseball season is coming, and so are the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds will have four different groups who will make 17 different stops throughout five states including Ashland, Ky., during their annual winter caravan.

The East stop will begin on Thursday, Jan. 23, with a 5:15 visit to The Market on State Street in Athens. The Reds will then go to the Charleston (W.Va.) Town Center at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday, the Reds stop at 11 a.m. in the Grand Central Mall in Vienna, W.Va., followed by the 4 p.m. visit to Fannin Motors in Ashland, Ky.

Making the trip on the East tour will be Reds’ new manager Bryan Price, pitch Homer Bailey who threw his second no-hitter last season, Reds’ 2013 Minor League Player of the Year Seth Mejias-Brean, director of player development Jeff Graupe and broadcasters Jeff Piecoro and Chris Welsh.

All stops are free to the public. The Reds will raffle two tickets to the season opener at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 31, against St. Louis. Ticket representatives will be available.

The carvans return to Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park at noon on Sunday for the annual Select-A-Seat at Great American Ball Park. Fans can meet with ticket representatives from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
