Female Flyers top Raceland, 70-58

RACELAND, Ky. — It’s a simple game. Just put the ball in the basket.

The St. Joseph Female Flyers put the ball in the basket often Thursday night as they beat the Raceland Lady Rams 70-58.

“We had a good offensive night. From the second quarter on we shot the ball well,” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller.

The Female Flyers (11-6) had three players in double figures led by Hannah Miller with 29 points — 23 in the second half. Lynsey Booker scored 16 points and Amber Neal had 15 points on five 3-pointers.

“Bri (Bridges) got in foul trouble and Molly (Miller) rebounded really well. Lynsey (Booker) had one of her better games,” said coach Miller.

Raceland (7-9) had four players in double figures. Krystal Keeton had 15 points, Michelle Vanderhoof 13, Savannah Mackie 11 and Ashton Sipps 10.

Vanderhoof scores six points as Raceland took a 15-14 lead in the first quarter. Neal hit a pair of 3-pointers and Booker scored six points.

Neal drained two more triples in the second quarter and Hannah Miller had six points as St. Joseph took a 30-23 lead at the half.

Hannah Miller scored 12 points in the third quarter and Neal nailed another trifecta as the lead went to 53-40.

Hannah Miller scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and the Female Flyers were 8-of-10 at the foul line. Both Booker and Hannah Miller were 4-of-4.
