ROCKSPRINGS — Now that’s what you call playing your roster.

All 10 players got extended playing time as the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings beat the Miller Lady Falcons 73-51 Monday in the Division IV sectional tournament semifinals.

“I can’t say enough about my bench,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Brandon Walker.

“Autumn Keathley, Kelsea Massie, Sierra Ross, Breanna Brumfield and Kassie Baldwin came in and gave us wonderful minutes. We pressed more than usual and they came in when we got tired.”

Massie had her first double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Kalli Hunt scored 12 and had eight rebounds as four players were in double figures for the Lady Vikings (9-11). Elly Fulks had 11 points, Meranda Hayes scored 10 and Hannah Maynard added eight points and 13 rebounds.

The Lady Vikings had 55 rebounds including 21 offensive boards.

Hayes, Hunt, Massie and Brumfield all had three steals each.

Rebecca Houk scored 19 and Ali Bray 13 for Miller (5-13).

Hunt scored eight points in the first quarter as Symmes Valley opened up a 21-7 lead.

Jacy Dutiel and Houk scored six points each in the second quarter as Miller cut the deficit to 32-25.

Massie and Keathley combined for eight points in the third quarter as the Lady Vikings went up 44-33.

“I’m proud of the way we battled back. Miller took a one-point lead in the third quarter and we stepped it up,” said Walker.

Fulks and Keathley scored six points each and Massie had five more as the Lady Vikings outscored Miller 29-18 in the fourth quarter.

Bray and Houk scored nine each for all of Miller’s points in the quarter.

Symmes Valley plays top-seeded Eastern Meigs at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the sectional finals.
