Tony Straight

Tony Mark Straight, 53, of Patriot, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his residence. Born Oct. 8, 1960, in Ironton, he was the son of Bill Straight, of Buckeye Lake, and the late Bonnie Shepherd Straight. In addition to his mother, Tony is preceded by a sister, Linnie Foor, and a brother, Tim Roland.                                                          Tony was a construction welder.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Dorthia Rutt Straight, who he married on June 7, 1985, in Columbus; two daughters, Elisha (J.D.) Miller, of Patriot, and Destany (Allen) Campbell, of Patriot; one son, Kevin Straight, of Germany; three brothers, Kenny (Heather) Straight, of South Point, Willie Straight, of Columbus, and Tim (Lisa) Straight, of Columbus; three grandchildren, Trey Campbell, of Patriot, Sage Miller, of Patriot, and Liam Straight, of Germany. Also surviving is a number of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home in Gallipolis with brother Larry Casteel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
Military funeral honors will be presented at the cemetery by the United States Army and the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.

Florence Louise Boyd, 85, of South Point, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Lawrence County native was born May 9, 1928, the daughter of Joseph Roscoe and Gracie Mary Brewer Skaggs. She is survived by her husband, Keith E. Boyd.
Mrs. Boyd was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Ashland, Ky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven sisters, Stella Lucille Skaggs Hickman, Myra Irene Skaggs, Mary Evelyn Skaggs, Emma Elizabeth Skaggs Akers, Gracie Ruth Skaggs, Lena May Skaggs and Helen Ruth Skaggs Adkins; four brothers, Frederick Roscoe Skaggs, Paul Edward Skaggs, John Lewis Skaggs and William Franklin Skaggs; and a daughter-in-law, Garnet Boyd.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kelvin Boyd, of Portsmouth, and Michael Boyd, of Ashland, Ky.; two daughters, Pamela (Bob) Connors, of Ironton, and Diana Boyd, of South Point; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Clark officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be 11a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Kathy Sullivan
Kathy Petrie Sullivan, 61, of Crown City, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in  Huntington, WVa. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Homen in Proctorville by pastor Todd Kincaid. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Martha Coleman, 89, of Rush, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Lucasville. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky.
