ROCKSPRINGS — Wulf Goheen and Troy Scott carried the offensive load and a strong third quarter comeback carried the St. Joseph Flyers.

Goheen and Scott combined for 33 points and the Flyers rallied in the third quarter as they beat the Reedsville Eastern Eagles 47-36 Wednesday in the Division IV sectional tournament semifinals.

Goheen scored 17 points and Scott 16 to lead the Flyers (12-9). Chris Lewis grabbed 12 rebounds while Hunter Pemberton had two assists and three steals.

The Flyers were 14-of-15 at the foul line with Goheen and Scott combining to shoot all the free throws.

Jett Facemyer, Daschle Facemyer and Chase Cook scored 10 points each for Eastern.

The Flyes led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter as Scott scored four points and Pemberton hit a 3-pointer. Cooks had five points for the Eagles.

Goheen’s basket proved to be the only points the Flyers scored in the second quarter as Eastern took a 19-12 halftime lead. Jett Facemyer scored six points to give Eastern the lead.

But as anemic as the Flyers’ offense was in the second quarter, it was that productive in the third quarter as they outscored Eastern 19-6 to take a 32-25 lead. Joseph Payton scored all seven of his points in the quarter including a trifecta, Scott scored five and Goheen four.

The Flyers were 11-of-11 at the foul line in the fourth quarter with Goheen making seven and Scott four. Goheen scored nine points and Scott six to account for all St. Joseph points in the quarter.

The Flyers will play Beaver Eastern at 8 p.m. next Wednesday in the sectional finals. The first game has Symmes Valley playing South Gallia at 6:15 p.m.
