Capital University announces provost’s list

BEXLEY — Capital University has announced its provost’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

The provost’s list recognizes a high level of academic distinction achieved among full-time, degree-seeking students.

To be named to the provost’s list, students must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.70 during the fall 2013 semester.

 

Proctorville native makes dean’s list at University of Akron

AKRON — Abigail Piaskowski, of Proctorville, made the dean’s list at The University of Akron for the fall 2013 semester.

To be eligible for dean’s list, students must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher and be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

 

South Point alum graduates from basic training

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Air Force Airman Timothy D. Vance graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Vance is the son of Daniel Vance of South Point, and Jeniffer Vance of Huntington, W.Va.

He is a 2013 graduate of South Point High School.
