Joann Miller

Joann Miller, 51, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at her residence. The Pedro native was born Sept. 28, 1962, a daughter of the late Earl and Haley Sparks Sizemore.
Joann attended Rock Hill Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Freedom Enterprise Independent Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her son, granddaughter and daughter-in-law. She liked playing Farmville, reading, watching Westerns and Little House on the Prairie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Howard Sizemore; and companion, Paul Arbaugh.
She is survived by son, Kenneth W. Miller Jr. and Jennifer of Ironton; brothers, Joey Sizemore and Cindy of Ironton and John Sizemore of Coal Grove; sisters, Rosalee Rowe and Jim of Ironton, Eloise Dunn of Pedro, Linda Ross and Charles of Pedro, and Diane and Richard Wilson of Waterloo; and granddaughter, Alexis Miller of Ironton.

Randall Friend

Randall Lee Friend, 63, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born July 8, 1950, a son of the late Fred “Junie” and Dorma Lee Warix Friend.
Randall attended Rock Hill Schools. He retired from C.J. Hughes Construction Company and was also a self-employed contractor.  He enjoyed going to local flea markets and attended Christian Baptist Church in Russell, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Renae Dearfield Friend on Jan. 4, 2012.
He is survived by six children, Randall Brent Friend of Niles, Brandi Sue Friend of Coal Grove, Christopher Lee Friend of Coal Grove, Molly Renae Dearfield and Jason Lacey of Carmel, Ind.,
Cole Younger Friend of Ironton, and Lucas Jackson Friend of Ironton; adopted brother, Mike Mavromatix of Columbus; and 12 grandchildren
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Rocky Dearfield officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Mary Blake

Mary E. Bailey Blake, 93, of Proctorville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday Feb. 22, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House Huntington, W.Va.  She was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Logan, W.Va., to the late William Tell and Bessie Hawes Berry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ancel E. Bailey and Lawrence Blake; and 10 siblings.  Mary was a member of Windsor Independent Church.  She is survived by five daughters, Becky (Carroll) Bragg, Linda (Roger) Cox, Ann (Eddie) Massie, Sandra (Steve) Ford, and Gloria (Dale ) White; one sister Betty Halley of Batavia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home by pastor Jack Rankin and pastor Harold Hamlin.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens South Point.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Judith Lucas, formerly of Proctorville, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Roxboro, N.C. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

Rex Porter

Rex Henry Porter Sr., 85, of Birmingham, Ala., died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Home, Raceland, Ky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Mike Rice. Burial will be in the Ice Creek Cemetery in Deering.
Michael Cremeans
Michael Cremeans, 59, of Huntington, W.Va., died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

Michael Stanley

Michael Ray Stanley, 60, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at  home. He was the husband of Belva Stanley, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
