Ironton LL to hold pitch, hit & run

The Ironton National Little league will host a Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition on March 15. Contact a league official for details.

Ironton Little League tryouts set Saturday

The Ironton National Little league will conduct tryouts Saturday at the Ironton Middle School.

Registrations will be accepted during tryouts provided players register prior to their designated tryout times.

Ages 11-12 will be at 9 a.m., ages 9-10 at 11 a.m. and ages 7-8 at 1 p.m. Tryouts are mandatory. Players who do not tryout will be ineligible for draft status and will be randomly assigned to a team in their age division.

Makeup date for tryouts is Monday, March 3, at the middle school beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the 11-12 age division.

Tryouts will be for players, interested managers and league administration and essential volunteers.

Hornets’ district

tourney tix on sale

Tickets for the Coal Grove Hornets’ Division III district tournament semifinal game will be on sale in the high school guidance office.

Tickets are $6 and fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance. The school receives only a small percentage of the presale.

Coal Grove plays Lucasville Valley at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Ohio University.

 

 

Vikings’ sectional tourney tix on sale

Tickets for the Symmes Valley Vikings’ Division IV sectional tournament finals are currently on sale in the high school principal’s office.

Tickets are $5 and fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance. The school receives only a small percentage of the presale.

Symmes Valley plays South Gallia p.m. Wednesday in the sectional finals at Meigs High School.

 

 

Lady Vikings’ softball plans rummage sale

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team will host their seventh annual indoor rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday in the high school gym.

Anyone with items to donate are asked to drop them off between 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. If anyone needs items picked up, call coach Jeff “Odie” Estep at (740) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).
