Each March the Madness begins. This is both true for the NCAA and for the Lawrence County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Every March, the Board of DD hosts several events, such as the run/walk 5k at The Point in South Point, the Chili Fest and Craft Show and an evening of basketball at Dawson-Bryant High School.

All of these events help fund the DD programs.

However, it is also an avenue for the organization to raise awareness and inform the public.

Bringing awareness and providing information is a key component for any organization, and bringing the public together provides a better platform.

We encourage Lawrence County and Tri-State residents to participate in not only the activities for the Lawrence County Board of DD, but other organizations as well.

Many times, these events are ways not only to raise funds for projects, but help other causes as well.

Doing so will allow residents the chance to get a better look at the work the board of DD is doing in Lawrence County and show their support.

Many organizations in the county and throughout the Tri-State provide a great service to their community and deserve the support.
