Pauline Williams

Pauline Evelyn Williams, 86, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, after an extended illness. She leaves behind a legacy, which includes more than 40 years of educating boys and girls in the Dawson-Bryant School District, as well as providing care for family members in time of need.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Garland; her parents, Harold and Mabel (Baker) Winters; one sister, Phyllis, and brother-in-law, Clifford Williams; one sister-in-law, Mollie Winters; and one nephew, Mark Lang. She is survived by two sisters, Katie (Harvey) Lang, of West Winfield, N.Y., and Ann (Gary) Douglas, of South Point; one brother, Bill Winters, of Deering; as well as a number of nieces and nephews with their family and friends.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at O’Keefe-Baker funeral home. Burial will be in Williams Hill Cemetery. Kevin Willis will officiate. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

 

Marjorie Blair

Marjorie Ruth Blair, 91, of Blacklick, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at her residence. The Ironton native was born Aug. 2, 1922, a daughter of the late George and Ida Mays Hankins.

Mrs. Blair attended Hecla Schools. She was a former nurse’s aid at Sunset Nursing Center for more than 20 years and attended Royersville Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Grove.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Blair; son-in-law, David Muller; brother, Ralph Hankins; and three sisters, Dorothy Hardy, Mildred Stapleton and Avanelle Simpson.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and George Green of Winter Park, Fla.; daughter, Eva “Janie” Muller of Blacklick; brother and sister-in-law, George and Marge Hankins of Marion; brother; Carl Gene Hankins; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Norman Brown of South Point; three grandchildren, Nicki Stamas of Gahanna; Tanya Rudolf of Hilliard; Seanda James of Altamonta-Springs, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Jacob and Tyler Stamas, Brody and Jack Rudolf, and Megan James.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home with Bishop Steve Stamas officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service today at the funeral home. Donations may be in Marjorie’s name to the Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215. Anna Dillon

Anna M. Dillon, 58, of South Point, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic. She is survived by her husband, Joe Dillon. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville.
